hello everyone just wondering I have been on rucaparib for about 6 weeks but my ca125 are still going up from 27 then 43 and now 171 getting a bit stressed but also has anyone experienced being more irritable than usual I am feeling very tearful and like I'm having a nervous breakdown but I'm not just really not myself I have never been like this in my life take everything in my stride but I am losing my rag very quickly now and it's not like me anyone else have this. I do have a lot to deal with I am living with my 98 year old mother and it is exhausting so am not sure that is the cause of my mood any help would be most grateful have had three reoccurrences in 3 years. It's been tough as you all know

Hi Reinbach, I am so sorry to hear you are having such a tough time, is there a support group in your area you could reach out to? Bad enough dealing with this awful disease and to have to care for your Mam as well. I am not on the meds you are on so can't help you there. Maybe contact your district nurse also to see if he/she can help in any way. Best wishes. You are tougher than you think x

hi I’m on oliparib and avastin .. avastin stopped in march so tablets only going forward , I’m stage 4b no operation for me ..

my CA125 is checked now every 8 weeks and my last count was 244 I’m expecting it to rise again it has steadily increased over the past 5 months but the CT scan shows stable mass to right ovary and reductions to hepatic and splenic deposits .. which obviously means the tablets are doing their job ?? The ca125 is an indicator but so much else affects it , I’m told stress being a major factor and guess who’s a stress head !! Never thought I was thought I was pretty unflappable tbh I was wrong .

You are looking after your mum too which whilst exhausting much bring you so much pleasure to have her with you .. I lost my mum at 57 her age mine now ..

So whilst I have no comparison to your drug as I’m not on it I do understand your mood swings and want to send you a hug 🥰.. well done your juggling so many balls and still standing xxx 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

Hi I’ve been on Niraparib for about 6 weeks too and am feeling exactly the same! I’ve been depressed, bad tempered, tearful and feel like I’m having a breakdown. However like you too I have had a lot of other things happening, both my parents passed recently Mum in February and Dad 6 weeks later and I was in hospital for 10 days at the end of my first recurrence chemo.

I’m also having difficulty sleeping, having 2/3 hours maximum per night and don’t know if that’s caused by the meds or not.

Hard to tell isn’t it ?

I hope you start to feel better soon, If not you could ask your oncologist to reduce the dosage?

Best wishes

Claire xx
