I am on the above drug combination for stage 4 clear cell cancer, & have been getting eye floaters whilst on treatment. Atm, I have just 1 huge floater thats driving me mad! Anyone else experience this? I had a head scan which came back normal.
4 days ago had round 5, so currently suffering horrid side effects. Think going to bed is the best bet. Not nice is it, makes me feel low feeling so ill 😥

If you get a floater that looks like a curtain going across your eye you should go to your local emergency eye clinic to get checked out. Chemo just keeps on giving unfortunately xx
I developed a lot of floaters in both eyes prior to OC diagnosis. It is called vitreous detachment (not to be confused with retinal detachment). Vitreous detachment can be a normal part of aging and is when the vitreous breaks away from the retina. I had retinal tears in one eye which is not that common. It is always a good idea to get it checked by your opthamologist. I have two Weiss rings, one in each eye that don’t leave my line of vision and I see them constantly as well as spider web looking things. Something I am living with still.
I agree that you should definitely get this checked out immediately.
I suffered from floaters ( vitreous detachment) for years before having buckle surgery for a retinal detachment. This happened a couple of years after treatment for breast cancer. My sight was saved by a GP ( this was Germany!) that day. A few years later, back in Scotland, I had laser treatment to repair retinal tears. Hospital brilliant. They said get straight to A&E with that and you’ll be seen immediately. My optician was hopeless, sent me to A&E without calling ahead to arrange for me to be fast tracked.
Currently on Niraparib and really struggling to wear contacts, a lot of pink eye, which is one of the side effects.
Anyway, very long story short- I know you feel knackered by chemo, but please have this checked.

Hi. I get blurry vision not floaters. But also having a bad few days after chemo—third time around. It’s only carboplatin but still wiping me out. Hang in there but I take the advice about the emergency hospital if it gets worse!

Really sorry to hear about your floaters - I actually have them too and know how frustrating they can be! My best advice is try to ignore - which I know is easier said that done haha - but they do get easier to ignore! Although appreciate others comments about getting checked or hospital for certain types. xxxx
Mine are induced by the chemo & therapy I'm on, so I had a scan which ruled out any spreading to my brain, but I will speak to my team again & see what they say, I try to ignore it, pesky things! Very annoying 🤭It's one day at a time for your mum, she will get there but it's a slow process. The backache is likely due to the way she is 'holding' herself to protect her tummy. I had it too! Did they give her basic exercises to do? She can do them lying in bed each morning, and be aware of trying to walk tall rather than stoop. The back muscles are taking the strain, that's all. I used heat pads to ease mine, got some microwavable ones online (can freeze them too) & they helped alot.

Hi Kazzh. Floaters are very annoying at any time but on top of other chemo side effects, even worse. I have had floaters for years & prior to any OC treatments but chemo did start my visual migraines (zig zags) which come & go. At first I panicked but I've become used to them now & just watch them until they go. Chemo also brought on tinnitus which has never left me. No-one warns you about the possibility of these ongoing side effects. Definitely check that it isn't something else first but otherwise you just have to accept that it's one of those things you will learn to live with. The price we pay for staying alive 😊I'm off to see my Onco today, coincidentally World Ovarian Cancer Day, to get results of latest scans post final chemo. Hoping for good news. Hope I hear him over my tinnitus & hope I don't get a visual migraine from the results 😄😄. Hang in there. Sending big hugs. 💜
Thanks Kazzh. Results were good but not optimal. Tumour has shrunk by 50% which is great but will need more treatment. I'm ok with that if it means 100% shrinkage. It's not my first rodeo, as they say.I hope after yo knock this current treatment out of the park, you get great results & enjoy a cancer free life for a very long time. If they gave medals for bravery during cancer treatment, none of us on here would be able to walk under the weight of them. Love & strength. 💜🦸♀️
