anyone here diagnosed with oc before 40 years old?
Hi Vivibeatris. Yes, I was diagnosed at 31. My ovarian cancer developed from a cyst from endometriosis. I was fortunate that it was caught early and removed intact. I had fertility-sparing surgery to remove right ovary and fallopian tube and for staging checks but didn't need chemo. The anxiety from being in this situation is awful, especially with it not being as common at a young age, am sending lots of hugs and support your way.
I'm currently looking at having completion surgery (almost 5 years on) full hysterectomy, etc. due to ongoing endometriosis, symptoms, scares. Was super lucky to conceive and have a little boy a year after my cancer diagnosis. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions. Xx
I was diagnosed at 38 with high grade 3c in 2022. I’m now 40. I had hysterectomy well I had major surgery as it was hiding everywhere! Followed by chemo. I’m now on Olaparib. I’m also BRCA1 so planning on having double mastectomy at some point. I have an 11 year old daughter. I’m doing ok my CA125 has been a steady 7 for a while and just had a scan and that was looking good. It’s a scary process and one I struggle with daily. I’ve dipped in and out of therapy. I’ve done a couple of the under 45 meet ups. X
