From cancer to Kilimanjaro

hi everyone,

I put an update on recently and people wanted to know more.

Last year I was diagnosed with stage 3c low grade serous. It was a complete shock and I had no idea i was ill, until it was pretty bad. I underwent a huge debulking surgery and a round of chemo. I am pretty lucky and am now Ned with no further treatment.

To celebrate getting better I wanted to repay Ovacome back for all of their support and help that they give and continue to give.

So next year I am climbing Kilimanjaro with my husband to raise money for ovacome and doing lots exciting walks in between to help reach our target of £12,000.

We are currently 12 mountains 🏔️ done and dusted in to training, and have so far raised £2000. I know some of you wanted to donate so this is why I thought I would share the link to our fundraising page.

We’re going to show you can go from cancer to Kilimanjaro, and that an ovarian cancer diagnoses is not always the end of your story just part of it.

Thanks everyone

Sending love 💕

Delighted to read of your climb! I did the reverse - climbed Kili in 2016 and 3 months later diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer (ovarian's sister). Its a wonderful thing to do and so rewarding. Don't forget to train yourself to drink a lot of water in a day (up to 5 litres). Fluid intake is key to preventing altitude sickness.

Wishing you lots of luck with the training
