Hi I’ve been stilly and done to much yesterday and paying for it now with a very sore tummy !!!! Thinking I’m super women and really I’m not !!!!!
been silly !!! : Hi I’ve been stilly and done to... - My Ovacome
been silly !!!
Do be careful, after 3 weeks from surgery I felt better so started my spring cleaning..my stomach hurt for a couple of weeks. Best to rest..walk a little if up to it.
It’s so tempting, when you’re beginning to feel a bit better, to do too much. Do take care of yourself. You’ve had a lot of trauma to your tummy. The scars are deep inside too, where the tissue is still healing. It’s going to be at least six weeks before it even begins to knit together properly, I was told.
My ‘moment’ was on Christmas Day when I tried to lift the Turkey, in its tray, out of the oven…convinced that hubs couldn’t manage to cook Christmas Dinner! He could, he did but he’s never done it since. My stomach hurt for a few days afterwards but it made me more determined to just do a bit more walking very day. Walking is great for recovery.
Take care xx
yep I was an idiot , I drove my car with no problem just got a bit of shopping but forgot I had to get it into the house !!! I have regretted it since about silly I’ve been x
I did exactly the same on Christmas Day. My operation was on the 9th December and I went to recuperate at my parents’ house. My mother is a terrible cook so I made Christmas dinner. My mother was having a drink at the neighbours’ house so I tried to lift the turkey out of the oven. My stomach aches so much. I didn’t attempt any hoovering etc after that.
I agree that walking was the best recovery exercise.
I’m sure we can all relate to that. It’s so easy to forget you’re still fragile, once you begin to feel better. I hope there were lots of chocolates and some wine in your shopping…or something to spoil yourself over the Easter weekend 🐣🍾🧁 xx
Poor you! I know it's so tempting to be 'normal' again. I did the same, squatted down for something and felt bad pain and was really pissed off with myself.Just be a patient patient for a bit longer and your life will get better soon. X
How many weeks post-op are you, please remind me, ? Please be VERY careful! Can you order a shopping delivery from local supermarket? They bring it right into your kitchen if you request it. Do not rush into doing normal things, you’ll delay your healing xx
4 and half week since op !!! And just done my first shop on line , why did I not think of that before !!!!!!
We all do that occasionally sometimes we feel normal but we realise we not thinking of all ladys with this horrible condition
Ive done this after all my operations just too keen to try and get back to normal. At least your sensible enough too realise. Try to chill and relax it does take awhile to heal inside and out. Just be careful have a lovely Easter everyone. My love too you all try and stay positive if you can look after yourselfs .Love & big hugs SheilaFxxx
Do give yourself time, whilst it’s tempting to do things be mindful of setting yourself back x
I did major food shopping on the way home after my 11 day hospital stay. I don’t know what I was thinking! We just want to be able to live life as we did pre- surgery. Put it behind us and stock the fridge. With anything besides yellow jello! 😁 Do be careful and remember to pamper yourself and delegate the harder chores to someone else while you recupe! Hugs, Jill
Caz ...you are super woman! You are coping, talking and looking to the future! 10 weeks in and I still get tightenings in my tummy. Energy levels still not back to normal.Remember to rest when you can! Xx
Hey Caz, we are all super women on here! 💪 Our powers are just a little bit reduced sometimes. Take care, try to be sensible 🤪 and your battery will soon recharge. Love Gill X
Please be careful! As you have discovered, it's the next day when you pay for overdoing things, you don't get a warning at the time. Shopping online, get family members or neighbours to help, and don't try to rush things.
yes, I agree. I think I can do a task and run out of energy halfway thru!
after my first surgery I was swimming in the sea, hoisting weights at Pilates-2 surgical hernias! Yep-what a fool I was.
They were only repaired 6 years later upon recurrence.
Be kind to yourself, but well done on being fit! It has made a huge difference to both my recoveries
