I think treatment will always depend on your particular situation. I’m currently facing my first recurrence and after a scan showed very small areas of disease, my oncologist is waiting to scan again in 2 months. If things have changed I’ll begin carbo/taxol, the same as first line and all being well I’ll then go onto a parp. Parp inhibitors seem to have changed and improved treatment options significantly over the last few years.

Good luck with whatever treatment you have, and a very happy Christmas to you too xx

Good morning RG47

Thank you for your post. As mentioned in Emmacrispins reply, treatment for recurrence of ovarian cancer is individualised and depends on a range of factors. I’m sure that some more members of the forum community will share their experiences with you soon, but I just wanted to let you know about Ovacome’s information resources on this topic, which can be found here:

I hope these will be of interest. We are here to support you so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you would like to talk anything through with a member of our team. You can send us a message directly through this forum, email us via support@ovacome.org.uk or call our friendly support line on 0800 008 7054. We’re here Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm, to help with questions, provide information or just have a chat about anything that may be on your mind.

Hi. After such a long period sometimes they do more surgery if they can get it all and they might redo carbo taxol since it worked so well the first time. Otherwise a lot of people have carbo caelyx/ aka doxil. Good luck with everything! Xx

Good morning! I just got my first recurrence after 6 years, stage 3C Fallopian cancer - started carboplatin and paclitaxol again for 6 rounds, that was the first regimen I had and my oncologist thought I did really well with it so we’re doing it again - she will start me on Parp inhibitors post chemo so this will be a new experience for me - good luck to you!
