Good morning ladies

Is anyone on the Uplift trial? Just wondering how you’re getting on?

Just had my 4th cycle but can’t say it’s been easy. Would love to hear other experiences

Thank you

Hi, I have been on the same trial, about to go for the 5th infusion on coming Mon. It has been very difficult to deal with side effects for sure; in some ways, the side effect from this trial is worse than chemotherapy to me. I had muscle ache after the first infusion, which was debilitating, but I didn't have it again. Side effects seem to get better as the infusion numbers increase. What is constant, though, is nausea, which I find it not easy to live with.

But, after just 2 infusions, my tumor shrank by 20% (x and y measurements, so in volume, bigger reduction), and CA125 dropped from >1500 to 61! Very recently, it dropped further to 21, so I presume the ADC is working in my case. I just got the second CT imaged yesterday, so when I have its results in a day or two, I will let you know. Based on CA125 data, I suspect a further decrease in tumor size. Even with the previous CT, it was clear that the tumor was undergoing necrotic death.

I don't know if you have done this; if you go to Mersana website, they published their preliminary trial data. There, it shows that it removed tumors completely in 3 patients. I have not seen such records anywhere so far, so I am hopeful that the ADC is just as effective for me as well.

Hi Sunset9,

Sorry I've taken so long to reply. I was grateful to hear your comments and I think we have probably been on the trial for the same amount of time.

I haven't had muscle pain or excessive nausea-I would fine that difficult to cope with too. My first infusion resulted I me developing an infection and ending up in hospital for nearly two weeks. Each infusion seems to see me spending at least a few hours in A/E with infection. My treatment has been delayed because of this and one infusion I didn't complete due to a possible reaction.

I'm due a scan next this week and am not sure what the results will show. I wish you all the best with yours and hope it shows a further improvement.

Please keep in touch and I will update you on my progress too. Take care
