Hi lovely ladies im just seeking some information from the group.

I was diagnosed with Stage2b OC In May I had LAVH and salpingo oophrectomy. There was NED after surgery . I am having 6 rounds of Taxo:carbo. I have just had my 4th cycle. I had a CT scan yesterday is this usual at this stage in my treatment even though so was NED after surgery?

Hi, in the UK it is usually at the end of your treatment (i.e. so after your sixth chemo session). My end of treatment CT scan was after my fifth session due to delays with my chemo due to my blood levels being too low on some occasions. I still had my sixth chemo session but that was after my end of treatment CT scan.

My assumptions may be incorrect but I think as you had your hysterectomy in May they probably booked your end of treatment CT scan in May/June for October working on the assumption you would be at the end of your chemo or very near to the end. I'm wondering if one or two of your chemo sessions have been delayed for whatever reason.

I think in the Uk it’s not unusual to have a scan midway through chemo and at end of chemo. They can keep track of what’s going on and also then have previous scans to refer to. So think no more of it ….they are just looking after you well xx

Hi Bobbylynn

Was wondering if you don’t mind me asking how your recurrence was found CA125? Symptoms?

At msk they do a scan before treatment/surgery, mid way and at the end of treatment. This is to ensure they have an accurate scan to compare and ensure there is no new spots of disease. Best of luck on your results 🙏🏽
