Morning all. Feeling a little lost this morning and just so helpless for my Mum. She finally got the bowel stent due to a blockage and then vomiting finally under control. Was discharged last week after 3 weeks in The Christie, she has been doing well at home although meds are totally wiping her out(she’s on a syringe driver). She’s due to start chemo possibly this week… but I really don’t see how she will be fit enough for chemo being this poorly.. not sure what the criteria is?
She was sick in the night last night which is the first time in over a week… no idea why. Terrified she’s going to be too unwell for chemo.
Appointment Wednesday with the consultant.. any experience of having chemo for later stage cancer would be appreciated, and how you coped when already unwell. Some of you may remember she has 2 primary cancers, ovarian stage 3 and goblet cell appendix. It’s the appendix that has returned and she is now stage 4. Laura. X

I did have single agent carboplatin when I was recovering from lung infection. They did a three quarter dose for me because they felt I might not cope with full dose.
Luckily it reduced my symptoms and made me better able to cope with further chemo. I hope your Mum gets the chance to have it. Best of luck to you and your Mum xx
Your poor mum she is having a bad time at the moment, hopefully they will lower the dose enabling her to have her treatment . God bless you both sending love & hugs to you both & lots of prayers for a very positive solution. SheilaFxxx
