Great news, very good response. Hope it continues. My magnesium dropped very low. Oncologist told me that carboplatin is well known kown for doing this. Infusion should help but it would be a good idea to take a supplement if recommeded. I don't think there is a tablet form. I needed topping up so hospital asked my gp to give me a prescription for magnesium aspartate dihydrate (Magnaspartate sachets). I think this type is easier on the bowels and it does seem to help. I didn't find that the white liquid they first gave me was very effective. What I now take is soluble and not unpleasant to take. I know you didn't ask for comments on this but I hope my experience may be helpful. Jackie

Oh, that's a good response to the chemo, so the marker should drop more as you go on. Re magnesium , I finished carboplatin for the second time this year - my magnesium only drops fractionally when I'm on it, which is a cause for comment by the chemo nurse, but the fact is, I take magnesium tablets, every day, all the time, have done for years, and I don't stop it because of chemo, so likely that's why. I have told them both times that's probably why, but they never seem interested and never ask in the first place if you take any vitamins and minerals regularly. I'm sure if I asked them before chemo if I should take my supplements they'd probably say no.. I did ask about CBD oil, and they said no to that,, though I suppose that's different from vitamins and minerals, more medicinal.

Never had the sachets, but I think they're supposed to be more easily assimilated in the body - with tablets, you end up not absorbing all the magnesium in them, but I hope the tablets don't have the same effect on you, so fingers crossed.
