Please don't concentrate too much on survival rates. I always said if there was a 99% chance I wouldn't survive, I'd be that 1%. There's no knowing what will happen to each of us as individuals as we're all different. I know it's difficult but not all the figures you read are correct.

Sorry I'm not much help but please try not to worry and put that energy into surviving.

All the best to you. Zena

I agree totally with ZenaJ.It’s hard at times but try not to think about these things, you need to focus your energy on healing and having a positive mind. The mind and the body are so connected and I personally believe having a positive outlook helps your body mend.

Thanks. I’m obviously a little more content in myself today as I’m not in flight and fright mode today. We’ve isolated since Christmas, but went out for coffee today and ent got the moment.

Yes, last year I had my spleen removed (along with various other organs) and bilateral diaphragmatic stripping (whatever that is).

Yes spleen was removed in 2016- penicillin every day for life but hasn’t been a big deal so far.

Sept 21 my debaulking was over 10 hours long - they replaced part of the diaphragm with mesh cut a piece off the liver took out appendix gall bladder part of the bowel and everything else and left my spleen. I took longer in ICU than expected but I have had no problems since and I don’t need the fluid to be drained every week as that has gone! According to the stats I should have gone 2 weeks after diagnosis as the cancer was that advanced - so I try to focus on just what my oncologist tells me and not Google…Oh and I look fitter than I have in years!

I am sure that you will feel good again soon and I know that you can live perfectly happily without the spleen. A few pills is the least of all our worries!

I do hope the ladies here have offered you some support - as they have me. It helps to see others are feeling or fearing the same.

Good luck in your continuing journey. Xx Terri
