Appreciate advice I had debulking April 2021 last adjuvant Carbo/taxol in October 2021, low grade, 3B Endometrioid, CA125 before surgery 4200, last numbers were 6, 8, 7, saw Gyn/Onc CT scan clear he wants me to take an Aromatase inhibitor for 2 years Onc doesn’t agree all genetic testing negative she pushed my draws to every 6 months instead of 3 because I see Gyno/Onc every 3 months my question has anyone taken an Aromatase inhibitor for maintenance? Side effects? I have arthritis already.

Hi, I take an Aromatoze Inhibitor Anastrozole,The side effects aren’t too bad. I have the occasional hot flush and before I get out of bed some pain and stiffness, but it soon disappears.

I’ve been on it 6 months for endometrial cancer.x

HiI’m in the UK (England), here my experience is that a maintenance Aromatase inhibitor is standard cover. My debulking was Oct 17 followed by chemo. Anastrozole gave me 2 year NED, appointments every 3 months between Gyni/surgeon & oncology consultants. Had more chemo March ‘20, moved onto Tamoxifen after first 3 month check up consultant advised it wasn’t working so moved me on to Exemestane, 12 months on, stopped working so back to chemo Sept ‘21, just finished and recovering, awaiting CT scan and next oncology appt. Think others will confirm this is pretty standard in UK. Assume different countries will have different protocols and obviously insurance/funding criteria, which I have no knowledge of. Glad you’ve had good results with your chemo x
