I’ve had Carbo/Taxol (6 rounds every 21 days) 3 times. Commencing Oct ‘17, March ‘20 and Sept ‘21. Had radiotherapy Aug ‘21 to deal with some troubling symptoms first. Experience pretty much the same each time, other than 2nd line treatment had to have magnesium sachets and most recent experience after picking up a chest infection and fluid on the lungs after cycle 4, and a slight delay and I had infusion strength slightly reduced as a result, Also had to self inject to stimulate white blood cells to bring up white blood cell count. Again had to have magnesium sachets throughout. Finished 3rd line treatment just before Christmas. As previously am still struggling with leg pain and hands/feet neuropathy (though hands easing). Usual associated fatigue still dominant. Other than additional medication felt more or less the same through each experience. Good luck 🦋🌻 x
What a journey you have had and congratulations for still being here I have not had carbotaxol combo but it is the gold standard for OC. Good luck and God bless from paris
Hi dryden1 glad to hear from you…sorry you are starting chemo again but 15 years is a remarkable span and I am sure you will cope with this chemo with the same indomitable spirit xx
Hi there, I am on second time on taxol. Last time was 5 years ago. Had a reaction to carbo 2020 so cant have that again. I have taxol once a week for three weeks, then a week break and almost at the end of six months treatment. It has been more tolerable once a week than a bigger dose once every three weeks. Have fatigue and achey joints but manageable. Hope it goes well gor you. Xxx
Ive had the chemo treatment 2 years ago same combo yes did find it tough going but thought it was worth the outcome in the end. And yes my body hasnt fully recovered l still have numbness in my fingers and toes and nails havent fully recoveredMy hair did all come back and l am at the moment NED so ld have it again if need be in a heartbeat. Hope you can decide but if its worked before think it might be worth trying again. Good luck saying prayers it works stay positive.
I’ve had the same combo three times now. Paclitaxol/carboplatin. In 2014,2016 and 2020. Managed to get NED all three times. Doing okay at the moment on niraparib. I would choose to have the same again if I have another recurrence as it worked for me. All the best. X
I have had taxol and carbo more than 3 times. The symptoms and side effects are no more worse than when you remembered. Good luck! Seems like youve been through a lot for the past few years so this is just another day at thecrodeo.
