Hi fellow warriors. I am 70 & currently midway through 6 chemo rounds. Number 4 next Monday. I was first diagnosed in 2015 then again in 2018 & this one in 2020. First two treatments were chemo/peritonectomy/chemo. This time chemo only. Side effects this time have been pretty hard on me . Maybe due to age??? or maybe because chemo has changed. Currently on carbo/caelyx/avistan.
Most side effects are stomach related. Pain & burning & gas. Often Very distressing & not sleeping well. I get a lot of support at home from my wonderful husband & remotely from big extended family & close friends. I meditate & do yoga, read and walk daily. Sometimes go for drives to walk near water (allowing for social distancing due to covid). I remain positive that I will stay strong & beat this again. 🥰

Love that your positive my fellow warrior and you have been fighting this disease, with the stomach issue are you on any other meds as they have something called a stomach protector Omperozole found that it helps with meds at present am on Paracetmol steroids and a morphine equivalent for the issues that I currently have. Wish you all the best 👍
Just to let you know your a Spring Chicken! Caelyx is a tough chemo and it's particularly hard on the tummy so talk to your CNS and onc about side effects and they should be able to help you. Take care Spring Chicken Sue xx
You go girl! You’ve got this. Love your positive mindset and how you get on and do the things you enjoy. You will beat this again. Keep smiling. Lots of love xxxxx
Had similar problems and though it was tumour recurrence - omeprazole worked wonders for me so either ask your oncologist/nurse about it or you can buy it over the counter.
Its no wonder they call it the red devil (here in the US due to its red tint) had it and carbo for second occurrence. And you are doing Avastin as well. You are over half way there and on Monday only two more left! You can do this you sound so positive and are doing everything right. Hang tough and check with Onc about all the stomach issues
I think your body is being hard I had the same 2 chemos when I did my second round but I had the Avastin after for six months b.c. and that on it's own gave me a lot of side effects including the ones you mentioned. Sorry to hear you are suffering take life as slow as you can and I hope it will improve.
Oh forgot to.mention they swapped me from lansoprozol to emprozole which helped with pain as well as higher dose slow release morphine and more oxycodone.
