Hi Miriamn57

Thank you for your post and for sharing this experience. I can see from your profile and post above that you have been diagnosed with uterine/endometrial/womb cancer. I just wanted to let you know that the MyOvacome forum has a focus on ovarian cancer which may be why you've not received any replies yet, but I wonder if anyone on the forums below may be going through similar experiences?

I note that you’re based in the U.S and wonder if the Foundation for Women’s Cancer may be able to provide the information you are seeking?

I hope you are able to connect with someone going through similar experiences soon.

Hello,

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 endometrial cancer (Grade 1). A second opinion found symchronous primary endometrial and ovarian cancers. But my gyn onc favors her original diagnosis and has treated it as such.

I had surgery first and unfortunately a tumor on the lower pelvic wall was left behind. I had chemo (carbo/taxol), but the tumor progressed during chemo. I then had six infusions of Keytruda, which shrunk the tumor by two-thirds. It was then small enough for radiation, so I had 28 sessions of external beam whole-pelvic radiation. Just had the post-radiation CT and it showed no sign of cancer, thanks be to God. Dr suggested another month “off” to recover and then I’ll start taking Megace (40 mg twice a day) as a hormone maintenance drug for at least five years. Studies have shown Megace to be effective in treating advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer. Dr also mentioned Avastin infusions as a maintenance therapy, but I prefer to try the Megace.

I hope you find a good follow-up treatment and are able to have a peaceful and restful holiday.
