I had a blood test last Monday and my Ca125 was 37 but my inflammation markers had slightly raised. I had another blood test yesterday for the chemotherapy I had today and my ca125 had gone from 37 to 40. I had debulking surgery 5 weeks ago. Should I be worried? Sending everyone love and hugs. Sheenagh x

Hi, its a worry when ca125 goes up but it's only 5 weeks since your operation your body is still healing and there must be inflammation still. Hopefully the chemo will help reduce it again. I keep hearing ca125 test does get affected by many other things going on. Hope your getting on OK try not to worry sending positive thoughts, love and hugs.

My oncologist warned me that ca125 goes up after surgery. He was right. Mine went from 45 before surgery to 125 after surgery. It’s starting to go down again and it’s been 3 months since surgery🤷‍♀️I don’t think mine will ever go way down since the surgery couldn’t get everything, but at least it’s heading in the right direction. I just finished carbo/taxol and am only on Avastin so we shall see.

Hi. I agree with the others that it’s probably due to surgery. My CA 125 is not a marker for me and is always low but four weeks after surgery it was 20 whereas it was 8 at diagnosis. So hopefully it will go down soon! Hugs.

Hi Ruebacelle,

Did you mean they worry if they go up a few points or if they go up loads of points. Sheenagh. X
