Hello Angels, A big thank you for putting up your stories out here. It really gives me hope everyday that we can beat this disease.
So, now here I am, bit afraid, on my mom's OC 2nd Recurrence. She was diagnosed with 3C OC in 2016. First recurrence was in 2018, nearly after 3.5 years. Now, its increasing again. CA 125 was initially 10 but it has increased to 35 in past 5 months. But the progression is slow compared to first time as she's on avastin this time. Doctor has asked to get CT in Dec and asked not to worry.
Please help us if we need to improve on diet and what questions should we ask from doc for the next treatment.

Hello, I am also a hardcore vegetarian! I think the advice is always ‘eat healthy’ so plenty of protein, rainbow colours and keep unhealthy processed food to a minimum. Once on chemo your body craves carbs. Chemo has depleted my bone density too so a calcium supplement would be worth asking about xx
Thanks Lyndy. She already eats home made food. Last time we overloaded her with fruits but this time we've asked her to eat whatever keeps her stomach light
These explain that there is no conclusive evidence that any dietary regime helps to shrink or stabilise cancer. If your mum is feeling worried about her nutritional intake or how to maintain a healthy weight, please encourage her to seek a referral from her oncologist to a dietitian specialising in supporting people with cancer. Everyone is unique and what may feel nourishing for one person may not be for another.
I also wanted to let you know that a charity called Penny Brohn UK run weekly online sessions titled ‘Cancer Nutrition Know How’ which I hope may be of interest. For more information about their sessions, please visit this page on their website: pennybrohn.org.uk/find-help...
In addition you asked about what questions to ask your doctor during your mum’s next appointment. If you or your mum would like support preparing for this consultation, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re here on 0800 008 7054, Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm, U.K time.
