I hope you are well. I am here on behalf of my wonderful mum.
We had a meeting with our oncologist last Friday as my mums symptoms have increased after a 5 months break from treatment. It was agreed that mum should try a lower dose of NIRAPARIB.
Last time mum was quite poorly and was taken to hospital and it was left at Wexham park and taken back to the pharmacy , our oncologist has informed us that there is no further funding for anymore niraparib as the cancer fund for nhs only fund this once. [Edited by moderator] Although it made mum feel rubbish it had a big impact on mums cancer and our oncologist thinks it would be a good idea to try one tablet for at least a week.
We are based in Windsor. If anyone can help we would be so grateful.
Sending you lots of love

I am sorry for this stress that you and your mum are now facing. Please read through the link about the latest on Niraparib and you can get in touch with Ovacome Support for more help and advice on this matter healthunlocked.com/ovacome/....
I’m really sorry to hear that your mum has had increased symptoms.
Your oncologist may have been referring to the Cancer Drugs Fund guidance for niraparib which states that no treatment breaks of more than 6 weeks beyond the expected cycle length are allowed (this includes to allow any toxicity of current therapy to settle or intercurrent comorbidities to improve). This would unfortunately mean that your mum is no longer eligible for niraparib funding in this way. The National CDF list is available here: england.nhs.uk/wp-content/u...
