I use touch fingerprint to open all my apps accounts etc. Since I started my last lot of treatment I’ve noticed it becoming unpredictable. Today I can’t open anything and I’ve noticed my fingers have new lines and cracks on the tips. Could this be distorting my print? Has anyone also had this?

We have a finger print scan to clock in at work and mine won’t scan either. I explained I’d had chemo and they lowered the reading and it sometimes works now. I did google this at the time and read it can be affected by chemo. (Not sure if you can believe everything on google though!)
Well I think I’m a victim of distorted finger prints. It’s a real nuisance. 😳
Hi, I too have lost my ability to use fingerprint identity since carbo/caelyx chemo. I still haven't got it back yet my last infusion was January. My oncologist asked me if I still had fingerprints so it must be right. My hands peeled after the second infusion so caelyx was reduced to 70%. I didn't have any problems with carboplatin alone.

I have had that experience. I didn’t connect it with chemo! I though my fingertips were just too dry because of getting older.
I think it’s the chemo. It’s a pain because if you redo your prints you have to redo bank accounts and everything. We’re selling our house and I can’t access the online solicitors. 😳
I am really interested to hear this. Since chemo I have experienced some difficulty using my iPad and phone. Often I need to change fingers. This is not always consistent. I mentioned it to others but they didn't know about this.
My Mum was told that your fingerprints are more or less wiped after chemo, i can’t remember if the chemo nurses said it is something to do with it changing your DNA 😬 , that was before touch to open apps, so would be interesting to find out if it is a change in DNA x
I too have issues, never thought of it being due to chemo. I am on 3rd line and looking at my fingertips skin they look very different to my husbands. He has swerly lines mine look more like cracks/lines. Interesting perhaps this is a chemo phenomenon after all.
I’m hoping my bank accounts don’t become inaccessible 😕
I have problems too, but find that if I keep my finger tips moisturised, but not too greasy, the Touch ID works better. I also set a second finger just in case I get a cut on the first one!
I think it's recognised as one of the possible side effects of Caelyx. That's what I was told by oncologist at the time. (It can affect soles of the feet as well.) I had crack lines on every finger tip and had to moisturise often to prevent painful cracks opening up. I expected the effect to diminish after the treatment ended but I still have the same vertical crack lines, instead of normal fingerprints, 10 months later. I admitted defeat and got a phone with facial recognition...
Thank you for the advice. Excuse for a new phone perhaps!
That’s interesting. I’m finding the same problem. So annoying when it only accepts fingerprint id. Having to redo it several times but cannot rely on it. I’ve tried different fingers and both hands. Any tips?

I had to clean lense a lot. Stopped using print app. Back to a # again .
