My mother got allergic reaction to carboplatin during 3rd cycle of recurrent ovarian cancer, she felt short breathing, pain of throat and confusion, swelling.
During 2 nd cycle of chemo she developed mild reaction, but this time she developed severe reactions, just about 30 ml of carboplatin was left and discarded.

Hi, sorry to hear about your mum. Im surprised theycontinued with carbo and yr mum wasnt changedti cisplatin. I had a severe stage 3 anaphalactic shock on my third cycle for a second recurrence and can no longer have carbo. xx Kathy xx
Hi so sorry to hear that I also had allergic reaction & the only way I could have it was through a filtered line & at the slowest setting possible. Took hours but thankfully it worked. Hope this helps. Sending positive thoughts to you all xx
Yes it was, whenever they put it through quickly I had a reaction. I know mum wants it to go through quickly but it’s the body’s way of saying no. I had 2 really bad reactions & both times it was going through fast. I had it written on my notes that it had to go through at the slowest speed, sometimes it could take up to 7 hours but I’ve been in remission for almost 2 years & was told I had 80% chance of it coming back. That has now gone done to 20% so try to bare with it xxx
