I’ ve just had my 2nd OC major op in 12 months!!! Full of hope I ventured down this road in September 2018 and after finishing op, chemo etc., in March 2019, I had 6 months of freedom before back the !!!! Came with a Vengeance!!!!

I am once again embarking on a chemotherapy route to quell the spread of the Grains of Sand (OC description) & am seeing another Oncologist tomorrow for a 2nd opinion.

Learning to live with OC was never before an option but it has to be now, for how long?

Hi So sorry you have had this diagnosis. Do you know what stage you are? Just to give you some hope, I was diagnosed Stage 3 in October 2007 with a prognosis of a couple of years. We as you can still here(despite 2 recurrences) - currently on a trial drug and NED (no evidence of disease). You will and do learn to live with your diagnosis (to be honest no choice really!) Big hug. Kathy xx

Hello..and welcome! Learning to live with this uncertainty is part of this roller coaster journey. An oncologist told me that OC doesn’t conform to normal cancer ‘rules’. All we can do is hope this plays to our advantage and be tenacious in getting ourselves the treatment we need and deserve when it’s necessary. xx

Well done for finding this wonderful forum.

If you could complete your profile with a little more information, stage of disease, BRCA or not, what op's you've had and what chemo, it will help ladies offer appropriate advice.

Unfortunately recurrence is a fact of life for many of us, but what you will find is that we carry on living our lives, often, with help and advice along with lots of encouragement from the ladies on here.

Wishing you a speedy recovery from your latest surgery along with a gentle hug. x

Ah sorry you're in this situation. Never try to measure in the world of OC, the only thing predictable is its unpredictability. Live life well a day at a time and let the future look after itself. Great things are happening in the treatment of OC. Wishing you strength and a return to good health soon. 💐😘

This sounds like good news to me Iside.. I hope to God it’s all good news from now on. How long is a piece of string? As my oncologist said to me.

Could be a long, long time.

I’ve been reading about Plasma jet surgery for removing “grains of sand” google it Iside.

Have a great Christmas xxx
