Good Morning :)

I hope everyone is doing as well as possible with treatments/recoveries and generally mentally and Physically at the moment.

So I had some bleeding around 10 weeks ago and went up to A&E they got me in for my annual MRI scan early and the result did not show much except this small nodule on my vaginal wall. I was then booked in for CT and Pet CT scans which were able to show a little more in depth what we are dealing with and my Gynaecologist decided she wanted to go in and remove this mass so my op was for removal of mass and some bowel surgery ( I have been having trouble with my bowels pains and cramps) I often think I have a wheat/gluten intolerance or maybe IBS but it could be that my bowel is not functioning as it should be. So yesterday I was finally booked in for this procedure. I had to bowel prep for 2 days prior so hadn't eaten anything since Sunday evening whilst drinking laxative drinks not nice at all but this was incase I had to have some of bowel maybe all removed.

It was unknown how long this surgery may take could be 1 - 6 hours they decided keyhole surgery first with laparotomy using the camera to take a good look inside. If this wouldn't allowed them to remove the lump/nodule/mass on my vaginal wall then they would make a bigger cut to remove this mass they have found.

When I woke from surgery yesterday I see they had only made 3 small cuts to my abdomen and I was hopeful they was able to remove this mass. My Gynae/surgeon came round to discuss what she had taken out found and unfortunately nothing has been removed due to when they actually looked inside with the camera they had found I had more disease than anticipated it has spread to my small and large bowel and also my colon. This really wasn't what I was expecting and not even sure it is the same disease at all. Biopsies have been taken and I will await my results for this new diagnostic. I have been doing some research into whether Borderline tumours are able to change into aggressive cancers I am hoping not but there has been some cases I am hoping this is non invasive but it being on my bowel this may need to be removed.

I am a little cloudy, and in pain from the surgery today. I am trying to not overthink it but being borderline I just feel its too much in the unknown grey area side of what this disease actually is what causes it and why we get it. I am going to write down some questions to ask once I get my results but they never seem to know much or why.

I actually feel calm and positive and I have the best support around me. I just wanted to update and also write down exactly how I feel as it helps a lot.

Hi, I am sorry your are going through all this (and have done from such a young age). Hopefully once you recover you will be better focused to ask the questions you need answers to. Please let us know how you get on. Big Hug xx Kathy xx

Glad you are feeling calm and positive. Doing bowel prep and then having this rather inconclusive result from surgery is a lot to deal with. Concentrate on your recovery... you will probably feel less fuzzy by tomorrow. Let the doctors take the strain on the what’s next plan.... sending gentle squishy hugs xx

Dear Jasmine,

You being so very young, and fighting off this disease for such a long time, you still remain pretty philosophical about it.

So Bravo!

Meanwhile, that insidious BRCA mutation, does keep you at risk forever! Even after such a complete hysterectomy.

So, it might be that aggressive Chemo will be the answer.

If they can destroy this new growth with chemo first, your next operation might not have to be as extensive as you fear.

Waiting for the biopsy results is hard, but now you must heal from these latest wounds and keep researching your options.

Wishing you all the best.

Gentle hugs,

Laura

Hi lovely,

Just wanted to send my love, so wrong it is happening to any of us, but terribly wrong to someone of your age, I have a daughter of 33 and I would say you are younger.

A good attitude (as you have) helps a lot to get you through and recovery, keep yourself upbeat and keep busy, don’t dwell, it all helps.

I am 5 years NED, too busy to be ill, seriously hope you reach that, I have got to the point I don’t think of cancer.

Until my onc said I haven’t had a scan for a while, so why doesn’t he send me for one?😬

Don’t want to go........just leave me alone, asked him, has he found something? He said no, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, so now I am worrying all Christmas ......thanks,

Love to you,

Carole xx
