Hi Sid it’s always worrying waiting to see specialists and for results.
It will be a worry her ca125 rising but this can happen for a number of reasons such as inflammation somewhere even urine infections and not always cancer related. It’s a tool toward OC diagnosis but your wife will undoubtedly need a CT or PET scan once she has seen the gynae oncologist. Again another anxious wait for you both until you get the results I’m afraid. Try and distract yourselves with nice things you enjoy doing whilst you wait.
Will keep everything crossed all comes back ok for your wife please let us know
Please try not to google it will terrify you. And to be honest the statistics are generally way out of date and everyone is an individual we are not statistics and new treatments are coming along all the time so all the data on google is not accurate for what’s happening now. And at the moment you don’t have a diagnosis so try to avoid the google bug I know it’s so tempting but it really will make you more anxious and scared xx
Hello Sid I agree with Bev Don't google, you will scare yourself rigid! I know waiting is hard but your wife will need a CT scan before a diagnosis can be made. After which you will go back to see the oncologist and they will let you know what was seen, if anything. If nothing shows up on a CT scan they may investigate reasons for the raised CA125, for instance endometriosis, fibroid s and polyps can all increase numbers. Good Luck xx
Yes I have and it didn’t go anywhere- still clear 18 months later! I know it’s a worry but a raised ca125 can be caused by things other than cancer. Having had the shock of diagnosis we are all keyed up for more bad news but if you can, stay in the moment- nothing is proven yet xx
