My sympathies, my housemate has this presently and it,s wretched. Co.codamol to start, though it may not be strong enough as the pain is coming from the nerve endings arouñd where the spots are gathered. So, you may need a trip to the Doctors for stronger painkillers , possibly anti. viral tablets though my friend didn,t take them, she has stuck to painkillers and aloe vera cream from the chemist to help soothe. best wishes, x x x

P.S. Lottiè, have just spoken to my friend who tells me that you should definitely go to the Doctors as it involves eyes, you may need those anti virals or something to put in them. 😊xxx

I have already had the viral tablets, I had a hip replacement operation thirty days ago and two days after I went down with shingles.

It is the worse illness I have ever had, far worse than the surgery, hopefully it will clear up soon.

Hi

If the usual painkillers do not take the edge off the doctors usually prescribe nerve pain killers such as Gabapentin or Pregabalin. Be aware that shingles can damage nerve endings so that some nerve pain can last 6 months after the virus has gone. If you have the antiviral medication then it really is a good idea to take them to lessen any nerve damage.

Best wishes

Fay

I'm not sure what your shingles is from. My brother had shingles after taking some medicine and proteins that caused an imbalance in his body and he chose to use a naturopath because the other medicine doesn't help much. I can tell you what he did and it worked. In fact it started working pretty quickly and he's never had it since then. He took mega doses of l-lysine, a supplement that is called anti viral that you can buy at a good calling store and a topical ointment called - Spring Green (I think). He bought his all at a natural product food store-kind of like a vitamin cottage or something. Anyway, he stuck to the regiment and it disappeared very quickly and has not come back since. I myself take lysine when I have rashy blisters come up the chemo. Seems to help. as I'm still on chemo they still up here from time to time but if I don't take the lysine they last a lot longer and they hurt.

Oh you poor girl. I am so sorry. It is a very painful and disabilitating illness.

We tried everything, even cannabis and nothing touched it. Only time (and it is now two years) has finally worked its magic. Good luck
