Thank you so very much to all of you who replied to my first post on here re self healing. I can’t tell you how much your comments and advice has already helped me to put things into perspective. In particular Cropcrop for sharing the in-depth research you have done on Chris Wark and your observation of his ‘work’ makes perfect sense to me now. Here I am worried scared and bewildered and was having to try and cope with the guilt that I Should be strong and brave enough to self heal myself because some random guy who can’t posdibly understand what we are all going through decides he’s on a mission?! So tomorrow I’m off to the hospital for my kidney checks and waiting for my first chemo session with not so much dread as before and with considerably more strength to face it and cope with it. What wonderful kind and brave ladies you all are to share your experiences with me and spend your time sending supportive messages with all that you are going through yourselves. Best wishes to you all for your conditions to improve whatever stage each of you are at in your tough journeys and I’m so so thankful to have found this wonderful site. Love and hugs to you all 😘 xxx

Hi Barmycharm,

Everything has been said by other ladies, so I just add that personally I didn’t find chemo as bad as I dreaded. You will learn to live with it and manage it. Everyone at the cancer centres is very lovely and supportive and there is lots of information and support around.

Good luck with everything.

Grace ❤️

I’m sure I speak for us all when I say how pleased I am that you now have some clarity on the best way forward for you, making the decision to have your chemo is possibly one of the biggest decisions you will make. The thought of chemo is possibly much scarier than the actual treatment. None of us here will tell you that chemo is a barrel of laughs but it’s most likely not as bad as you think it will be.

We’re all here to support you along the way, ask as many questions you want to, none of them are insignificant, ask your chemo team, they’re only too happy to help and advise you too.

You can do this lovely. Big hugs of encouragement from a lovely sunny Lancashire ❤️Xx Jane

Love and hugs back to you 🤗 😘

Keep strong!

There will be some tough days but you will be fine most of the time. Use the chemo as an excuse for total relaxation. Get Netflix & spend your days watching TV, sipping nice teas & indulging in treats. On the tough days I watch Escape to the Country & Homes Under the Hammer. Go for short walks a week after the first few treatments only when you feel up to them. Don’t push yourself. On good weeks make sure to go out for breakfasts, 11s, lunches & dinners. When you’re sick everyone wants to meet you and pay for your meals so take advantage 😂

Take every bit of help that is offered! I can’t stress that enough! You have a great excuse to sit back & be looked after. Don’t start any decorating projects or spring cleaning. Before you head off for each chemo have as many things as possible organised in your house for your return because you won’t feel like doing much for the first week after chemo. I bring a 🍌 and 🥜 for treatment day. Buy nice magazines. I bring my tablet & 🎧 and either listen to podcasts or watch Netflix.

Take all the meds they give you, especially after the first treatment. You can probably cut down on a few of them from the second time onwards because you’ll learn what you need.

Get prepared now. Make your mouthwash. Stock up on things you like. Make nice soups & freeze them.

Use this time to put yourself first, sleep lots and rest lots.
