I was lucky as mine were rubbish on the Friday before chemo twice but they retested on my chemo day ( Monday) and they were fine again- they can give you injections to boost the wbc so ask if it's no better next time. Sometimes we do just need a rest. xx

Hi, sorry about the delay I've had this happen a couple of times and it is disappointing it will be alright as soon as they come up it will go ahead,I don't know if there is much you can do maybe the information on foods could help, or one of our lovely friend might have some advice ..Take care hope it not too long before treatment, Lorraine xx

Hi, It’s one of the things we dread isn’t it , get ourselves ready for chemo and then our body lets us down .They will sort it and you will get your juice soon.Keep well in the meantime Julia xx

Sorry to hear this - I’ve also had delays due to WBC being too low but I’ve started having injections 6 days before treatment now and they’ve boosted my counts up so hopefully no more delays- i’d ask about them going forward- all the best x

So frustrating for you, worth while asking your onc if they can give you jabs to help raise neutrophils. I had to have them all the way through and they did the job.

Hi the same thing happened to me this week. It was my last chemo so i was looking forward to seeing the back of the chemo suite for a while. I had bloods taken at 9am on Tuesday being told that if there was a problem they would let me know that evening - no phone call so my husband and I battled the M25 to get there for 9am on Wednesday. I took my chair only to be told i shouldn't be there as it had been deferred until next week. The nurse said the good news was that i didn't have to have the magnesium infusion as my levels were normal. That upset me even more as it would have only taken 2hrs and i would have escaped. Now got to go through it again next week. Good luck to you.

Here in the US at Memorial Sloan, during Frontline, their protocol was to start Neupogen shots (I gave myself) three days after the Carbo/Taxol treatment until the next treatment (taxol only). It was every cycle only afte Carbo was included-- and they started doing it around the 4th cycle. Of course, your WBC counts need to be low for them to give it but they told me they do it as part of the standard process. The shots work well and I did not miss any sessions due to low counts (I did for another reason but not that). They are expensive so maybe you need to give them a little push--I would think they would automatically recommend it in your case. GOOD LUCK. oxox

Once, maybe... but three times? I'd press them for G-CSF injections. You do them yourself. You may not need many to give the neuts a boost, but after I started using them I had no further problems.
