Mixed response to chemo

Hello everyone hope all are doing great ....I started my 3rd line chemo (carbo and taxol with avastin) on February, ca125 fall down to normal ,had CT scan after 4th cycle showing that i still have alot of disease in my peritoneum and have liver metastasis and a new mass that wasn’t there before.. even though my symptoms are improving..but recently i had occasional blood spots.. yesterday i saw my doctor and he said that i have a mixed response to chemo so i might start with a new medication, i am afraid i am running out of options (carbo, taxol,gemzar,avastin all were used)..i just want to know if anyone experienced the same thing!!is this a common thing!? I’ve never heard of mixed response .

Hi Tamey. Sorry, I can't help you with your main question but looking at your list of drugs, I notice that Caelyx is absent. It's a very effective drug - put me into my 2nd remission. Might be worth asking.

I had no response to chemo. I was offered caelyx but decided to go for a consultation at the London Clinic and am now on a phase one clinical trial at the UCLH research facility. There are many, many trials out there but you may need to do your own research as I wasn't told anything about phase one trials or how to access them. I now travel to London from Cornwall fortnightly- it is hard but I am doing it.
