Yep! Me 😁

All very manageable, and got good results. Still on Avastin now and the muscle aches have set in. Found the chemo easier than carbo/taxol, less medication required, and although I was hospitalised twice (only short stays luckily), I was never neutropenic, but the chemo aggravated my gallbladder.

I skipped the Day 8 of Gem from the outset, but I don’t think it would have had any significant difference to my overall outcome (although I do have that pesky 1cm left on my liver, but it barely shrank from midway scan to final scan, so doubt Gem would have made a difference).

Good luck!

Thanks Vicki, I was half way through the reply and got called in to see my new Oncologist! Really pleased you have had good results that's so positive to hear! Out of interest why did you skip the day 8, my guy said it would be fine to do that but he would recommend following the trial so suggested I start with it and drop if it is too much hassle?

I hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend on the fort and enjoy Florida, our son is now going with friends on Thursday as I've been told I can't go. Always next year though!

Did you lose your hair, forgot to ask at the oncologist and knowing my luck will get the prep skin head and then find out you don't lose it?

Best wishes, LIsa x

Gutted you don’t get to do Florida this year...maybe see if you can fit it in once chemo finishes?

I dropped the day 8 because my bloods struggled with carbo/taxol. My oncologist said it wasn’t worth having it and then causing delays to the rest of my treatment if my neutrophils were too low. No hair loss with this combo - hurrah! A bit of thinning, but really not that bad. The ‘side effects’ list included hair loss, but both my onc and CNS looked at each other and went, “Naah!”

10 days until Orlando now 😎

That’s a bonus then, good job I didn’t just buzz it, I hated my wig and really didn’t want to have to tell the students at college unless I have to so that’s brill. Thank you.

I bet you can’t wait your children must be so excited, mine is really excited he is going without us! Oh how times change...🤪

Have they been before? Put a pic on here preferably during or after a big ride! Take care and enjoy. X
