Happy Friday, Ladies. Just wanted to share a story regarding my hair...or lack of.
My first chemo for my recurrence was 2 weeks ago. My hair had grown down to the middle of my back. Yesterday morning I had to tie up in a bun because I went to brush and it was coming out in clumps. I called the salon where I normally go (this wonderful place will style your hair, shave it off and fix your wig all gratis). Stylist put in a pony tail and then shaved off. I didn't realize he had put the hair in a bag and right into my purse. I went home and my husband welcomed me with open arms and had a little sad smile to show his support for shaving my head. He said "I would have shaved my head in support, but, I'm already bald".....I then whipped out the bag with my hair in it. Freaked him out a bit, but, I have to say it was funny since I didn't know myself what it was I was whipping out!
Just a little humor. Truth be told...I like not having hair for the summer. I shall try not to make a habit of it, however.
Love to you all!

That was a really cute story, especially your husband's comment. Hair down to the middle of your back? Wow. That's amazing. How long did it take you to grow it?
Thank you, Nancy222! My last chemo was in August 2015. My hair came back curly. Took about 1 yr to grow back in full length to my shoulders and then got highlights and let it grow down. Last week was "my best hair week". lol. Always happens before it gets buzzed off.
I think there are places that you can donate your hair and they make wigs out of it both for children and adults. Your spouse's supportive response was sweet. When I did front line it was summertime and I was fine with no hair (it was indeed also cooler). For my recurrence treatment began in the fall and lasted through the winter. I had to wear a hat all the time as it was quite cold. It is now growing back but is still more fuzzy than actual hair. I cannot believe how white it is having coloured it before. Enjoy your weekend.
Nancy222, no I did not get peach fuzz on my face but there are hairs growing on my face that definitely need to be plucked out which I am doing while standing at my window with a mirror so that the daylight makes it easier for me to see them. Am hoping for eyebrows and lashes but that takes more time. Weather here in Toronto Canada is cold and sunny but so nice having it stay light longer now. Enjoy your weekend as well.
When I was in treatment, my eyelashes were suddenly gone, and then they came back again. Have no idea when that happened. One doesn't spend a lot of time in front of the mirror, except looking for those darn rogue hairs.
And wasn't it weird to have the nose hairs disappear? Again, one minute they were gone.
Hi, RonLitBer. I asked the salon guy if he could donate the hair, but, he said they will not take hair that's been colored. I will keep that in mind for next time. Today I am sporting a skull cap with a scarf wrapped around it. I look like I am a fortune teller. Wish I could predict this weather. It was snowing all day here in NY. And the sun was shining!!!
