Feeling thoroughly miserable waiting for cold cap and chemo to start. I’m normally the one on the ward chatting and smiling but just can’t drag myself out of this negative mood this time. I must look like a right old grump to everyone else as I give my one word answers. Hope I feel better next time 🙁

Awww Becky, sometimes it's all just too much of an effort to smile but hopefully when things improve your mood will too xx. You don't look like a grump to me, I hope the chemo goes well (well as good as it can!). Sending you a gentle hug. Thinking oif you. Kathy xx

Hi Becky,

You have to deal with it in your own way - we all have the right to feel thoroughly miserable. If anyone comments when I’m not at my best then I suggest they should walk a mile in my shoes.

Hope all goes well today and that you start to feel more positive.

With love, Ali x

Sending you so much sympathy and virtual support - sometimes we just have to allow ourselves to feel a bit rubbish and not beat ourselves up about it. What you are going through is cr*p, ive been there and just is miserable but you will get through it and your spirits will revive & you'll be back to yourself. Sometimes the waiting is the worst bit. Hope the chemo and cold cap goes as well as it can and you have some good rest afterwards,

I’ve never tried the cold cap is it for Taxol? I don’t think I’ve ever been very happy smiley at chemo I’ve always been a resistant patient wanting to run for the hills.

Hope it all goes well today

Hope u took your pre cold cap ibuprofen! I hated that thing but it was worth it. Chin up. You're allowed to be grumpy. Anyway not even giving one word answers would be being properly grumpy. 😀

The one place I didn't feel grumpy or scared was at chemo. On those days I felt at ease as it was someone else's responsibility to make me well and look after me. I actually enjoyed it and missed it when it stopped. Everyone else there, except the staff, was sad or quiet and rarely spoke. I didn't mind as I preferred not to speak French for several hours at a time as my brain would hurt. I do hope you can turn your thoughts around a bit and not feel so down about the chemo. It's our best shot at doing something about this awful disease and we are lucky to have the chance of new drugs coming along all the time. Let's hope our grandchildren and beyond get a better deal but we are certainly better off than our grandparents were. End of lecture and I'm sending all good karma to you. You don't look like a grump to me. I've got one of those faces that always looks grumpy unless I'm smiling from ear to ear. Not often quiet though.......... unfortunately, says hubby.

Hope it went well today. It’s not easy to be happy all the time let alone at a time like this.

Take care!

Hi Becky,

Did you manage to drag yourself out of your mood?

I was always Miss Sunshine during chemo, and had to tone myself down a little because not everyone was as thrilled as I was at getting chemo (which I always viewed as a positive treatment). But my last treatment was different and I was grumpy. Luckily my doctor had warned me about that.

Do you have many more treatments? (And you're got a very determined look on your face. Love it.)
