Hi Zena,

I hope you are feeling brighter now.

I have used cannabis for many years to control the pain during my MS attacks. I make little buns with the weed and freeze them. I'll probably get arrested now, but don't give a jot. I haven't had to eat one at all this year as the symptoms haven't been bad enough to warrant it, but, it didn't stop me from getting cancer. I did read up on it some time ago and thought that it may help for the side effects of chemo but there's not enough research done to convince me that it would stop or get rid of the cancer. However, I'm happy to experiment but I wouldn't eat my buns regularly, which is what I think you have to do. But, I may be wrong.

The problem with manufactured cannabis is that they extract what they think works whereas I think the real thing is much better, if you can get it. I don't want you hanging around sleazy bars in a mac and trilby hoping to bump into a dodgy dealer but your GP may have some suggestions. I have mine sent by mail and only once was the parcel opened at customs, resealed and the contents remained inside and it was delivered. Obviously a lot more tolerable over here then. Although hubby was convinced that the parcel would be immediately followed by a visit of the gendarmes.

I'm interested to read any other replies. One word of warning though. If you are depressed or on medication for depression it can have an adverse effect on you. I have witnessed it myself from a friend in UK some years ago and it did leave him slightly paranoid afterwards. He only tried it once. Never again.

Love and hugs

Yep. I use oil but stopped during chemo. Cannabis is effective for pain relief. My GP said lots of patients seem to use it these days. The mix is what matters

Hi Zena, I am taking it . I take three drop three times a day . I have been on it for about three weeks. I have been seeing my oncologist every four weeks for the past three months and my ca125 as been rising by a 100 each time. But when I saw him last Friday my ca125 had gone down from 370 to 320 .I don't know if it's the CB oil but I have felt great and my blood results were good ,so going to carry on taking it.☺xx

Where can one obtain cannabis oil? I have heard so much about it but it is difficult finding out about dosage and also whether cbd on its own or with thc is best. I want to take some as maintenance and would really appreciate any advice from those who may be using it.

Hi Zena , I have been taking the cannabis oil since I finished avastin at the end of August which was also my last scan and ca125 , the ca125 had risen from 9.5 to 12.5 , I have had my ca125 done today so will be interesting to see if it has reduced any ,fingers crossed 😬 Will keep you posted on results, my dr is quite happy for me to take it as long as I keep her informed. Best of luck

Hi Zena

I’ve been using cannabidiol for the last six months, which is cbd only with thc extracted which means no psychological highs. (Although that would be nice once in a while!) I can only trust my gut as I’m not having chemo so no scans but I do feel it is doing me good. Not cheap but if you want to explore further try the Dove clinic. It’s another tool in the armoury for me as I’ve refused more chemo. Good luck! Debs x

This was suggested to me by a friend and I bought some. it suggests taking it before meals but I can't get used to the taste.

Any other suggestions?

I haven’t tried yet ... can you mix it or dab under tongue?

Hi Zena

It does help with pain relief. There is some research that it affects cancer cells but I think you have to take it regularly for that to work. For me it's OK occasionally but I don't want to be out of it all the time ...... (I'd rather have a nice cold glass of wine). CBD oil which has no psychological side effects used to be available on prescription for people with MS but isn't any more. Let us know how you get on!
