My hubby just had second cancer op in a year first was colon second bottom of right lung.Inbetween 6/12 chemo tabs. Before he went in for 2nd op end of August 2017 he looked and felt fitter than for a few yrs. This 2nd op has knocked him right back he has no appetite is forcing his food down.Managed to get oral thrush and tummy bug.I am giving him the food he fancies which is very little.Just hoping he does not need more chemo at 78 I doubt his body could cope with it.He has been so brave never complaining. This op has really traumatised him.

Hi Woolven,

I am so very sorry to hear that your hubby has been struggling. I hope he picks up again soon.

Just so you know, this is a forum for women with ovarian cancer (and its variants), so we might not be able to help much with his situation.

Sending you a hug,

Vicki

Hello Woolven

I'm sorry to hear you and your husband are having such a difficult time. You may want to speak to the hospital dietician for advice on foods he can eat to keep his calorie intake up?

As Yoshbosh has explained, this is a forum for people affected by ovarian cancer. You may find a bowel cancer forum a more useful source of support. The charity Beating Bowel Cancer has a forum at the following link: community.beatingbowelcance... They also have a helpline on 020 8973 0011 They have booklet on eating well with bowel cancer at the following link: beatingbowelcancer.org/how-... but it would be advisable to speak to their helpline first to see if that booklet is suitable for your husband's needs.

How deeply you care for your husband is obvious from your post and I hope you are getting the support you need too. There is information on the Macmillan website on sources of support for carers at the following link: macmillan.org.uk/informatio...

I hope this information is helpful.

Best wishes

Anna
