Update after seeing Onc

Saw onc yesterday re tender low down on right hand side of abdomen. GP could feel something, so could hubby and so could consultant but he said as it's very tender to touch he says it's unlikely to be cancer as these lumps usually don't hurt. Also Im low grade and he said this would have grown in 3 weeks of CT scan. He had a look at my scan and he said there is one small nodule around this area but he doesn't think it's that as it's less than 1cm. He says it could be a strain/muscular?? Hmm not convinced.

Anyway I have to now wait until the liver surgeon gets back to him which he said he would chase them up and then see where we go from there, he hopes within 2 weeks. The ongoing anxiety is just horrible. He says again that if they can remove cyst by keyhole or they want to leave it he wouldn't want to go i and remove remaining bits from abdomen as they aren't big enough to warrant a big op although if I was already being opened up then it might be worth it.

Flying to Edinburgh tomorrow to meet hubby who's working up there and we are both flying back on friday so I'm looking forward to that and will hopefully take my mind off it a bit.

Oh well waiting again..... 😐

Best wishes to all of you xxx 💗

Jo2305--where I am treated, they can insert a camera through the small incision (they may be making for the cyst removal) to look around while performing another procedure. They did that for me when I had a lesion removed near by lung---to see where/if the cancer was anywhere else. Would you be able to ask if they can do that to put our mind at ease? The anxiety is BAD and I think many of us have to figure out how the heck to live with it. (I am posting shortly and can empathize--its so bad and no one (outside of us) can understand what it is like to live with it. I will say I am not usually one to go for yoga or meditation but I went to a class I heard about that was well received in mindful meditation and it works for a respite! Sorry you are waiting again and hoping the cyst is all you have going on!!! Good luck. Maxjor

Thank you so much for your reply yes the anxiety is bad and constant but unfortunately it's the nature of this hideous beast we are all dealing with .... good luck with everything xx

Argh! Waiting is the worst! Enjoy Edinburgh, and try to put it out of your mind. Maybe by the time you get home there will be news of an appointment with the liver surgeon?

Oh you're so right the waiting is just awful. I am looking forward to going to meet Matt in Edinburgh tomorrow so hopefully should be a nice couple of days and on Thursday I can do a bit of retail therapy while he's at work!

Good luck with your referral, I'm sure it's a good move and ive heard they're great with OC. Please keep me posted.
