Bone pain

Has anybody had a reacurranein there bones or is this not the norm for ovarian cancer to spread to the bones xx

From what I understand, it's not the norm to go to the bones, but I don't know what the likelihood is of it happening. Bone and joint pains are common after chemo. I don't know how uncomfortable you are feeling at the moment, but it is probably worth you getting some advice from your CNS.

In the meantime, you could try Epsom salt baths (at least 2 big cups of salt per bath) because they are very good at providing relief to bone/muscle/joint pains. Magnesium is also a great mood booster and your skin soaks it up really well.

I asked if it could recur in the bones as iI was having such a lot of pain with my chemo. The oncologist told me that it is very rare for it to go to the bones. All the best. Ann xx

I agree with the ladies, it is very unusual for OC to go to the bones, possibly what you need may be a dexa scan to examine your bone density. I have pain in my bones and was put on Fosavance to help rebuild bones, I have osteopenia which could be as a result of chemo. I also agree the epsom salt baths are just fantastic

I have had terrible aches in my bones, after blood tests I have been told I have low Vitamin D. Since taken supplements I am feeling less tired and far less achy. Might be worth having a blood test to check your levels. My consultant said that she feels everyone in this part of the world should take Vit B!

Hi there

Like everyone here I have been told very early on that OC or PPC in my case , rarely goes to the bones if ever. However one of my scans showed what they said were arthritic changes in my vertebrae. I presume the chemo may have caused that bit it beats the alternative for me. If the achy bones get too much I take paracetemol or Tramadol if necessary. However your own doctor would know best. Take care
