Dose for weekly taxol ?

Hi Ladies I'm having weekly single Taxol would like to know if any one knows their dose I'm having 50mg 3weeks on one week of for12 weeks, is 50gms normal dose. this is my 3 rd line chemo.

Hi Lorraine,

I can only tell you that when I had weekly taxol for first line treatment I had 150 mg, but that was with 230 mg of carboplatin. I think it varies according to your weight as well and I am what is politely referred to as 'a big girl' (and even bigger, two years on!). But I am NED. Hope all goes well with you. Deb xx

Hi Deb. Thank you for your reply this is my 3rd line chemo so it's single Taxol chemo only, I did have higher doses when I was first line also.Great news that you are NED,

Hi Lorraine , I am the same as you , 3rd line weekly taxol. Have just had my week off , so grabbed a few days away .I start my 2nd block on Wednesday..I don't know my dosage , but will,ask .It definitely goes on weight.also I had carbo taxol first time and was told that by the end of each 3,weeks of single taxol , the cumulative effect is stronger. I was getting drained for ascites wth a 4 week gap , have gone 7 weeks (I go Thursday) so that is a positive sign.

hi Linda, thank you for replying have just finished my 3 weeks this week I will get the 125 from my oncologist when I go in.yes we just keep on fighting.

I'm having 108mg weekly for 3 weeks and them a week off. But I think they go by body weight and I'm 67kg.

Hi Lesleygreengran,Thank you for your reply the reason I was asking I thought that 50gm sounded low I'm not a light weight 82kg so it's half of the dose you receive, I will ask about this when I go back . Best wishes Lorraine xx

Yes, I've also had carboplatin every 3 weeks, & so far 4 doses of Avastin. Once I finish chemo (last taxol) on Friday I'll continue to have another 14 doses of Avastin every 3 weeks as a 'maintenance' treatment. My Oncologist said this was the optimum approach for first line, so fingers crossed x

I am having 133mg over one hour. I asked yesterday (treatment day) how the dose was calculated and was told it goes on volume. So height and weight. It will get altered if you change weight by more than 10%. I am 56kg fully clothed and 5'4"

Interesting to see how everyone is different.

Hi Teresa, Thank you it does help me to ask about my dose when I go in this week as I said I'm on 50gm it seen low to me your nearly 3 times my dose, I'm no light weight 82kg...5' 6

Are you 100% sure it wasn't 150mg?? I had to read the tiny print on the bag more than once to see how much was in there!!

The info I have read says the dosing is 80mg/m2. No idea how that is calculated even though at one time would have been able to work it out, before chemo brain!!

Hi Teresa, I could be wrong I did not read the bag I asked the nurse and she said 50, but now you have planted the seed I could be wrong with my chemo hearing ,chemo sight and chemo brain any thing goes ,I will wait till I go back before I continue stressing.

Hi Lorraine, I am on 3rd line, single weekly Taxol only, but not having any breaks (seems there are 2 options 3 weekly and 1 week off).

I am receiving 130 mg over 1 hour infusion. I had No 5 yesterday, so far feeling ok, just a bit tired.

I weigh 65Kg and 5ft 2in tall. Understand dose is based on height and weight.
