Hi ladies,

Has anyone else post treatment had severe aches and pains in the tops of both arms, shoulders and lower neck.

This started back in Dec but finished treatment mid September, I am currently being tested for poly myalgia, never had anything like this prior to dx, but did have myalgia day 345 of chemo.

YES!!!! I had exactly this! I finished chemo in September and the pains started in November. Some days they were so bad I couldn't even get my arms above my head to get dressed. I was just on the verge of going back to the GP to discuss it again when they went away. The only thing I can think of is that the pains went a few days after I started a new calcium tablet containing magnesium, zinc etc. I have no idea if this helped improve the pains, but they haven't come back since, so I wondered if I was maybe a bit deficient in something which causes muscle and bone pains.

I must confess I haven't heard of poly myalgia before, so if your symptoms fit that, then I am glad you are being tested to see what's going on.

Hi Tracex,

it's the Vitabiotics Osteocare with calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and zinc. I had previously just been taking vitamin D on its own, but I was feeling a bit paranoid about my bones so thought I'd try these ones. I have no idea if they were the reason the pain went away, but it seems kind of a coincidence. x

I believe GP hasn't really got a clue just testing, however I am going to get some calcium tablets, to see if that sorts it out.

Ah Ellsey honey I cannot offer any words of wisdom but I do hope they get to the bottom of it all for you. It must be so uncomfortable not to mention inconvenient (my only experience of anything even remotely similar is if I have a particular heavy 'arm' day at the gym and cannot lift them for days (making dressing etc rather difficult!)

Fingers crossed they resolve this for you quickly Hun. Jemima xx
