Yes it can cause nosebleeds but it they are heavy then ring your unit. I vaguely remember reading something about putting Vaseline in your nose to help protect your nose ....can someone else advise? !!

Hi

I have had two carboplatin/paclitaxel followed by just carboplatin last week and have had three nose bleeds in the last two days.

Bloody typical this should happen now as I have had my whole house fitted with cream carpets this week grrr....

If you read the drug fact sheets available on Macmillan website it states nose bleeds as a possible side effect.

I am so glad you asked this question b my Mom is experiencing the same thing. I did not realize it was directly relative to th chemo.

Usually a couple of days after Taxol I get bloody mucus when I blow my nose. more annoying than anything else.

Friscok12, Yup, it's normal but I strongly recommend learning to blow your nose gently. I had carbo/taxol aka carboplatin/paclitaxel and cisplatin/taxol for a total of 34 weeks. My throat got so sore It was extremely painful to even swallow. My eyes dried out and I used moisturizing eyedrops 3-4 times a day. My mouth was very dry, which can lead to rapid tooth decay. Finished chemo August 10, 2016, currently NED. Tesla

Yep, I had regular nosebleeds on carbo/Taxol (mine were extra extra fun as I was on blood thinners due to an embolism), just another delightful part of the whole experience. Like everybody else has said if they are really heavy flows seek advice but otherwise be gentle when blowing and never leave the house without tissues ❤️xx
