Hi there. My brother in law is encouraging me to take a strong probiotic and apricot seeds because he claims that apparently they will help in my ongoing battle with this disease. Anyone here heard anything about the use of apricot seeds and probiotic helping in the treatment of this disease. Thanks😕

I have heard of apricot kernels being used not sure if that is the same a apricot seeds. Probiotics have had a lot of press in helping to fight cancer. There is a website called canceractive which looks at a lot of foods and vitamins canceractive.com/cancer-act...

There is a book on site how to beat cancer and the rainbow diet. As with all these things please make your own judgement, but worth a look.

I was told by my oncologist not to take anything as we get all we need from the food we eat.

I plan to look at alternatives when my chemo is over. In the meantime, I try to eat as healthy as possible. I don't drink alcohol or smoke. Has your brother in law battled cancer? Does he have personal experience?

we are frightened with this chemo had hard time finally against doctors optimal suggestions we enlisted a very educated holistic homeopath who does work with not against traditional oncologist and chemo. We feel easy with this and dont have to research and guess. We have finished forth round as well as supplements to compliment the chemo and help with long lasting side effects.

apricot seeds---B17--turns to strychnine when comes in contact with saliva--I dont know how to be safe with this--i have papers studies on it-got it from the oncologist dietician--be careful--I suggest finding a qualified naturopath to help you with supplements who will keep in contact with your oncologist.

Cancer Research UK investigated the use of apricot seeds and kernels (laetrile) and found no clinical evidence for their use in treating cancer and also they can be dangerous. Have a look at their web page cancerresearchuk.org/about-...

I remember when the actor Steve McQueen had cancer it was very popular for celebrities to go to this clinic and I think it was in Mexico for this treatment with apricots.

I do not think I need to say more .

hi I tried the apricot kernels for a very short time as they upset my tummy, I'm sure I read somewhere that they have an arsenic like quality to them, so I stopped very quickly. ai was only taking one day then and was supposed to build up to 3 kernels....wasn't for me

Hi, I have heard of apricot kernels, known as B17, and have also read that 80% of the immune system is in the gut, hence the probotics. I took Activia all through my chemos with no problems.

There are two Facebook sites that are full of posting on alternatives and cannibis oil, but you have to be nominated. I read but have not tried anything

Good luck

I don't think the apricot kernels have been proven valuable or safe! But taking a probiotic with or without Activia yogurt may help if you're having gut issues- as in constipation. I don't think there's any harm in taking a probiotic. I got the suggestion from a dietician who works with oncology patients. However, the suggestion came after my chemo was done. I think it was to help calm the IBS with constipation that I have. It works. I wish I'd talked to her during chemo. I

Yes. I have today been to see Chris Woolams speak and he covered the above. I would definitely get his book everything you need to know to beat cancer and his website cancer active. Probiotics is all about sorting out your gut and gut bacteria, but before you look at probiotics I suggest you look into doing a parasite cleanse for 8 weeks first, then introduce a pro biotic - see the link from cancer active to product recommended (most pro biotics and probiotic yogurts are not any good, you need a good pro biotic. Introducing kombucha, kefir, raw milk, fermented vegetables will all help build good gut bacteria. You need walnut oil from reputable herbalist - look up werone.co. Apricot kernels are meant to be great, I have some, they are incredibly bitter and if you eat too many can be dangerous as contain cyanide. You are meant to build it up slowly, eating no more than 5 in one go and no more than 35 in a day. Cancer active website should tell you all you need to know.
