Why on earth do cancer patients not get free dental and eye care when chemo affects them both? Not happy with a £222 bill for a plate for two teeth ravaged by chemicals.

Yes me too..eye prescription changed and teeth...well!! I agree that we should get it free just as when pregnant ☺️ Xx

Totally agree with you, my teeth are crumbling but in fairness my dentist is very good to me, I also had to change my lenses in my glasses which worked out dear enough as I have variofocals.

Like you, I too wear glasses and we need help with that too!! When are we going to get as much help as everyone else I wonder ?

I dont wear mine as often as I should but am doing better now, It does seem unfair doesnt it
Because the doctors and other professions haven't got it together. Slowly services are being linked up but we need to make them aware. Gio
You are totally correct. Actually my dentist was horrified I couldn't get any help and was unaware of this situation..we need to 'Get it out there!'
May be just one more thing we need to lobby MPs about. Have you contacted MacMillan with this suggestion? They were fighting for patients on chemo to get disability benefits as under the rules (when I got diagnosed at least) a decision covered 3 years so we weren't able to get it. I would have loved a blue badge so I could have been taken into town. Our parking metres in the centre have max of one and a half hours which didn't seem long enough.
Yes I have had a visit from a nurse and they are looking into financial help now. Fingers crossed XX
I am able to get attendance allowance, just went to my doctor and made the request. I t came through very quickly and I get the maximum amount of £82.50 or maybe it is £84, need to check the bank statement. I haven't been given a time limit but my doctor considered I might have only six months to live. Payment is weekly. Gio
