Hi, sorry you are feeling so bad at the moment. Many of us who have been through chemo know just how dreadful you are feeling, but it will pass.

Specialist nurses are generally part of the Monthly Department meetings held by the oncologists, surgeons and nurses to discuss cases

I feel sure that your oncologists secretary will be able to put you in touch with the specialist nurse, but in the meantime do ring our Ovacome nurse who is very helpful and caring

Much love JackieO xx

In some hospitals, the oncologist has a general oncology nurse with him and also there should be a gynae liason nurse on the team. I imagine ring the Oncology Unit and ask them for help or contacts details for this person, Find out also if there is a Cancer Support Group near you and go there. Ringing the Ocacome nurse is also a good idea and maybe the Macmillan nurses if you are in the UK.

Sorry I meant to add that I am sorry you have a recurrence, it is a blow to get but the panic does disappear and settle once you have a treatment plan in place.

I'm so sorry you are feeling rubbish currently, I can totally sympathise as I'm also not feeling my best just now as you will know if you've read my earlier posts. That aside, I would echo earlier replies and try contacting the consultants secretary or ring MacMillan for help. I have never contacted the Ovacome nurses myself, but they come highly recommended from others on this site.

I do so hope that you can get the answers that you need and start to feel better very soon. Take care.

Hi i guess each hospital has a different system. In my hospital they have a team of 3 gynae oncology nurses. They are v helpful. Also i visit the local hospice day centre they have nurses to talk to.

Wish you well. Ask questions on this site. They are so knowledgeable.

Hi Kaza, all I can do is echo what the other ladies said.Im 2nd line chemo also.hopefully finished by Christmas.I think it's the shock of being told of the O.C acting up again ,kinda adds to the misery, but thankfully we have chemo to knock the bugger back in place.thinking of you.x

I was given a name and phone number when I first was diagnosed I should think you could ask anyone in the team you see. I've just started chemo for recurrence and it is a bummer, especially as I'm right at the start so a long way to go. I hope you get some answers soon.

I would contact Macmillan and ask. Or call/email your consultants secretary. I met mine before my hysterectomy in 2012. I am again seeing the same two as before, which has been quite helpful. I email or call when having a moment have a question or want to see my consultant.

Have you contacted Target for a local group?
