Thanks anyway,I've only seen it on screen at the time.the white area at the bottom is spine.??

That's the very reason why scans are done and read by very experienced radiographers who KNOW what they are reading on a scan! Best left to the experts to process the info on scan, least qualified is the layperson like you and most of the rest of us in the population!!

I think the white areas just relate to the density and how the echo waves bounce back from various organs and orificies of the body, but I am definitely no radiographer lol.

It would seem it didn't show much of interest for the experienced eye though.

That's not an ultrasound, it's a CT scan. CT scan images are read as a series of images.

Best wishes.

Yes I know.just didn't think when titling this post.watched a lot of the pix ,area in the middle goes from this as in pic to a solid dark mass.I can't read what the writing says as viewing it on TV.

I think you need a radiologist to interpret this. White areas in CT/x-rays of the body are calcium, i.e. bone, so the shape at the bottom would be a vertebra, and the small ovals are ribs. I guess you have a CD of your scan and you're viewing it? I showed a similar image printed in a book to a radiologist, she said she could tell nothing at all from it because the reproduction was so ***** (poor) and she didn't know the details of the scan. I am sorry I can't help, I can only wish you patience over the weekend. Vx

presumably some of the white is the contrast and yes that's a vertebra at the bottom but other than that can't help

Yes I remember now they injected a dye and the strange warm feeling.

Hi patricia it is sometimes very difficult to remember exactly what tests and investigations we have had when there have been many over a couple of years or so.

Correct me if wrong but you have been posting for a long while that you felt your doctors do not take you seriously and have not granted referrals for investigations etc.

Bit confused- surely if you have had this ct scan done along with the various 'scopies' you've had done- they initially did take your concerns and worries seriously and have checked you over well to eliminate serious disease. You have said before that you have been diagnosed, from these tests, as having a couple of the more minor and commonplace ailments, along with change of lifestyle advice, which although they can give unpleasant symptoms they do not come close to a cancer diagnosis. praps they can't tell you that you have any other conditions- because you don't have them? Believe me I know it's hard to let go of pointless worrying but if you could do that maybe life would seem a bit brighter.

I can only speak for myself but I would have been over the moon happy to have got the negative results that you have.

Have no idea what you are on about,,I know perfectly well what scans I have had.Your "rant" has nothing to do with my post, which was asking about what the scan was showing.

Hi, only last week my oncologist told me the white areas are the contrast from the stuff we drink beforehand.

in reply to trix70

Hi Trix

I thought that might be what they were

Why is it people veer away from the topic of the thread??
