Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention!! Janette x

Thank you this will be interesting

This technology isn't in the here and now. I wish it were.

Someone on the panel said 'We need actionable, real drugs .. ..' (Or the other way round.) Don't quote me. :) I thought that was crucial.

And what a shame so many drugs have recently been taken from Ovarian women recently.

Look at Avastin for second line and other drugs. I'm not talking about the Cancer Drugs Fund. I'm talking about drugs available for all women in the UK.

The devolved nation dispute has turned woman against woman.

Now we realise that we've all been short changed n the name of innovation.

And let's not forget that these tests aren't 100% reliable. I heard this at a conference recently and from an oncologist.

Isn't it time we drew a line under silly 'Devolved Nation' disputes as we realise that women are here and in the now and they need treatment wherever they are in the UK?

Sue

Well said Sue.

Thank you for a brilliant post.

Thanks for posting this debate! Fascinating discussion. I've been thinking about the issues of DNA testing lately because I just got my health/ancestry report back from 23andMe. They give you the option to just have the ancestry information or to have both health and ancestry reports. You then get the chance to unlock three 'locked' reports on whether you have some major BRCA, Parkinsons or Alzheimers risk factors. Of course curiosity makes it impossible not to look, although I have to say it took me an hour to screw up the courage to open the Alzheimers one. Luckily I didn't have any of the risk factors, but it brought home what a big deal it is to find out about this stuff.
