Hi my mil diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian she is currently on avastin. Her ca125 slowly rising currently 50. She developed 9 red hard sore lumps on body hip, buttock, neck and ankle. Went to dermatologist had them biopsied!! Can this be a side effect of avastin or had it spread to skin????

Sorry to hear this. I can offer no information on Avistan because I live in Scotland and it is not offered here as not passed by the Scottish Medicine's Consortium. I hope the results from the biopsies are benign.

I have been on Avastin since last October and dont have these side effects but every one is different I doubt if it is due to Avastin though. The biopsies should help identify the problem and if it is an infection that could be the reason why the ca 125 has gone up. ca 125 can rise up if there is infection in the lymph nodes. 50 isnt such a big number so try and not worry too much

Hi. I received avastin for almost 1,5 years and had no skin sores. I had a friend with breast cancer and she had skin lesions. Maybe it's something different than cancer, but the better is wait for the biopsy result.
