Hi. I just had a CA-125 test, and result is 103.8 done by CMIA. what does it mean?

Hiya, just a quick reply with the little knowledge I have, in that ca125 is normal up to around 35, but just because yours is elevated don't go assuming the worst, and to be honest many people have a hugely elevated number ie thousands and many do not have any rising in numbers at all, so you can't rely on that entirely. Many differing things affect ca125 markers such as fibroids for instance.

You would need some more investigations to confirm anything else either way

Just to agree with Dawn. CA 125 can be affected by many things. xx Trish

Agree as well with Dawn and Trish. A positive CAT or PET scan along with an elevated CA 125 can make a more definitive diagnosis. My surgeon always says that it is not totally confirmed until surgery and/or tissue samples are taken.
