Hello there, I'm really not sure about reoccurrence signs in falopian tube cancer. I have done a lot of research but it seems rather vague as seems a rare primary site. My mum was diagnosed in 2012 with primary falopian stage 3, poorly defferiented, she had operation then 6 carpopatin and c125 at 55, finishing at 7. I understand the worry looking and waiting for symtoms to arise, mum has had a persistent cough the last 10 weeks which worries me which we are at doctors tomorrow to discuss. Hoping your situation is NOT a reoccurrence and wishing u lots of hope and love x

Hi Nette15

Thank you for the reply. Yes this cancer is rare. I had 6 rounds of chemo - Paclitaxel & Carboplatin, 25 rounds of radiation. My CA125 test was always low and continues to be.

I wish your mum the best.

I wish

Hi Nette

Thank you for your response and I wish your mum the best !

This cancer is rare and seems that not much info about. I had 2 surgeries / 6 rounds of chemo - paclitaxel & carboplatin, 25 rounds of radiation. CA125 was always low and continues to be low.

Dr. is doing yearly body scans and check-up every 6 months. Everything looks good so far BUT I do worry about reoccurrences.

Once again all the best to your mum.

Hi Grip, thank you for your good wishes for my mum, the doctor wasn't worried about her cough and just had asymptomatic and unremarkable letter saying everything is ok, touch wood as you say you always worry! So to celebrate I have brought her away for one week in Tenerife so we are just having a cocktail by the pool, will hopefully do it next year and the years after that. Easier said than done but worrying does us no good does it? Fingers crossed for you and my very best wishes xx

Many doctors now believe that most high grade Ovarian cancers begin at the far end if the Fallopian Tube and spill out onto the surface of the ovary and/or peritoneum. So it's really not as rare as you'd think. It's rarer for it to be contained within the tube. Whether it's unusual as well can be to do with the type and grade. I'm not sure what you'd look for. Didn't you have a hysterectomy? Love T xx

Just thought I'd mention that the rare bit is the fact that it is a Carcinsarcoma

(a Sarcoma being rarer than Carcinoma) so it isn't that it is found in the fallopian tube that makes it rare. Love x G x Here is a link to this type of cancer

I was inclined to agree with Tina that it is now thought that most advanced Ovarian Cancer is thought to have started in the fallopian tube..

But it seems I am wrong it is rare as this link confirms this ...here is a link to fallopian tube cancer.

Iwas diagnosed with Fallopian tube cancer2b. But it was serous epitheal cancer not carcinsarcoma. Think it was quite common one but Fallopian tube is supposed to be rare. Mine spread quite rapidly but in small amounts couscous style as Annie calls it.
