Depends on type of chemo they prescribe, some don't affect your hair, Caelyx doesn't affect your hair, ive just finished a course of 6 Caelyx and still have mine.

Like Chris said it depends on what chemo you are on at the time, I am now halfway thriough my third line of chemo and haven't lost my hair this time, but I have already lost it twice ( on my first and second line of chemo ) but there is no point in thinking about it until it happens.

Hey Gwyn's right. You've only just finished chemo so don't start worrying about the OC coming back. Enjoy being free of hospital visits for a while. Hopefully your hair will grow back quickly and you'll feel better about that.

I didn't lose my hair the first time as I only had carbo-platin. The next time I'm having Taxol so the hair will go - but I am going to ask if I can have weekly taxol so I can try the cold cap. Apparently my hospital don't offer the cold cap if you have taxol every 3rd week. Let's hope such worries are a long long way away for you.

We've picked up on a conversation from several months ago. Since I posted I was put on Carbo-Platin, Gemcitibane and Avastin and only lost some finer hair. I'm nearly the whole way through my treatment. Perhaps if you do have to have another lot of chemo you won't even have to worry about losing your hair.

I hope you're well. xxx Annie

There is one word you have out in your question and that is IF. It may stay in remission for years and years and let us hope but does. Just be positive. IF you have to have chemo and your hair goes again it will come back. It's only hair. Wear a wig it a lively beanie. Good luck and I wish you all the best for a long time without OC xxxxxxx

As the others say don't worry about it just enjoy your recovery from this cycle.

I never thought I'd say it, but losing my hair was quite liberating! I would never have had the courage to go from my long bob to the short hair I now have ( by choice)! I found it so easy to manage my hair when it started to one back I decided to keep it short. It now dries in 5 minutes and I don't have so many bad hair days!

I can't add to what friends have said but sending you good wishes Love Tina x x

Am hairless for the third time in 3 1/2 years. I have a wonderful collection of scarves. Have never worried about wigs as everyone that knows and cares about me knows I am bald. Lost it the first time with carbo/taxol, second time on oral, had gemcetibine but didn't affect my hair. Now I have had nine rounds so far of weekly taxol for three and one week off and am pretty bald but this time it isn't total but looks like a thin thin layer of prickles. Not bothered. It's hair and I am still alive and functioning.
