HI,

I have secondaries next to the liver and also the right kidney. To be truthful I knew nothing about the secondaries in the liver area, it was the kidney area that caused the problem. Mine is being kept under control with chemotherapy and I also take Complex of Milk Thistle to protect my liver from the continuing onslaught of chemotherapy.

Are you on treatment at the moment ?

hello, yes I have a couple of blobs on my liver. I was diagnosed with oc stage 4 grade 2c. I had six sessions of taxol and carboplatin and when i went back after a scan was told by onc that the chemo had worked well and the liver oc was dormant. They decided not to give me a hysterectomy as they were worried that this might reactive the liver cancer, the surgeon who was there as well said she had known patients with similar tumours laying dormant for 5 to 10 years and sometimes the body actually learns to live with it. I know how you must feel as every day i worry that this horrible disease wil return i so wish there was a treatment to keep it away we can only hope and be positive. look after yourselve love nikkixx

Hi there

Yes I have tumours around the liver. In fact a registrar gave me a copy of my most recent MRI yesterday which was off putting to read even though the treatment I am on is doing the trick. Too much information! Like Anna mine haven't given me too much trouble. It was the tumours in the abdomen that caused me to feel ill. I think my liver function was affected last Autumn but it is back to normal now. Livers are v good at putting themselves right.

I like the idea of them lying dormant. Thanks for that Nicki.

Tumour is probably like mine was just sticking to liver rather than invading it so chemo or surgery will probably be able to remove it without harming liver. Livers are remarkable organs and regenerate.Hope this helps. Vivienne

had tumour on liver last year with no symptoms so monitored by ct scan and was finally persuaded to have surgery as can no longer have any more chemo after four recurrences. when operation over discovered they had found more serious tumour on diaphragm which meant losing half of that as well. four months on everything okay back to voluntary work and ca125 at10.5.I have now lost my womb, ovaries bowel bladder half a diaphragm and a bit of liver in twelve years! Good luck with any decision you make regarding treatment. Vivienne.

Hi Guys

thanks for all the support. had a bit of a delay, had the CT scan in jan, then a PET scan end jan, I now have to go for an MRI scan before the liver peeps will see me, I get that on 28 feb, which will make it 2 months since I was told.....not happy about that.mind you I think that makes it a full set of scans- I will choose the travel kettle as my prize for having all 3!

I havent been asked to have any bloods done- do I need any tests- eg LFT?

I could get the GP to do them if I do.
