Sorry, I have not had this treatment, so cannot help. I am also very interested in the Rotterdam regime so hope others will chime in.

Best wishes

Hi, I would also like to hear about this as it may be one of a rapidly shrinking number of options open to me having finished 5th line chemo at Easter. Meryl

I am about to start this next week - so will post about it shortly

I had rotterdam 2011 but because I was feeling unwell when I started, I only managed 5 cycles so I never continued with the etoposide which suppose to continue for some months after the cisplatin infusion. I know some friends who have completed the course without too much trouble although the hair does not grow back until the etoposide has ceased. My rotterdam even uncomplete gave me 12 mths remission, my friend however had a recurrence almost immediately. Love Sandra xx

Yes I had it from Jan 2011 until June 2011 - happy to answer any questions that relate to my experience.

Thank you , Cathy ...I have had cisplatin and now , etoposide , 14 days on , 14 off for the next six months ; can cope with hair loss ; done it once , do it again ....but did you ever stop feeling weary ? Having had chemo on and off for two years, and two major ops in that time too , I wonder how you are and indeed , progressing . I hope well .

I had both together and then continued Etopaside same regime as you for a further 3 months. I had dreadful fatigue and bone marrow suppression for the last 3 months of combined treatment. However with Etopaside my blood counts became a problem near the end and was

one of the factors in stopping. My energy was ok about 1 month off Cisplatin. Please make sure your Magnesium level is ok as this can make you feel dreadful.

Best wishes,

Brid

Yup...there's little out there on magnesium ; I was in A n E with awful symptoms , turned out to be " Tetany "; no magnesium , calcium , potassium / sodium ....all quickly restored with mega doses of each . Like you , energy came back wonderfully when Cisplatin/ Etoposide finished .

Now , on Etop tablets twice a day at home ,

Always uplifting to know others experience the same , I feel less of a wimp .

Brid, thank you for response .

At least with tablets fewer trips to hospital and no cannula faffing about ! Always look on the bright side !
