Good morning

I have just listened to this, thanks for the link. I can certainly relate to many aspects of the discussion. I intend to have a conversation with my oncologist about this next time I have check up, if not before. Thank goodness for the Internet......and this forum!

As those on here who 'know' me know; I am exasperated by the lack of good information in the health service generally (and the wider world, too) about the food we eat, where it comes from, and the absolute necessity to eat not only fresh, but as chemical-free, naturally produced, and un-processed food as possible. Only slightly less exasperated than by the absolute lack of understanding of how negative stress and lack of appropriate physical outlet impact upon us.

Ultimately; the immune system is our protection and, as such, we have to support and protect it with an holistic approach.

I hope your oncologist shows more knowledge than mine (who would, frankly, have to ask himself some searching questions about his own lifestyle were he to recognise this)!

Be healthy and well!

Isadora.

Hi Isadora

I agree with everything you say and would add that I think that there is plenty of info out there but often people don't want to hear it/know about it for all sorts of reasons. You can take a horse to water......................

Not me though! Since being diagnosed (finally) in April 2012 with Stage 3C PPC, I have totally reviewed my lifestyle - diet, stress levels, exercise etc and there is definitely a before and after ovarian cancer for me, personally. For example, I thought I ate quite healthily but was a big dairy person, I drank loads of milk and could live off cheese. Not anymore. The research is out there for anyone to see and not from just cranks and quacks! Try Harvard University for starters. Will making changes make a difference to me? Who knows, but I do know I will do all I can to live as long as possible and do whatever I can for myself without additional use of drugs if at all possible. I asked my oncologist (not the chattiest of fellows.....) what he thought of links between cancer and dairy and he said there was research to link it with breast and prostate cancer but as yet, not much research with ovarian..........that is good enough for me to continue as I am doing.

This thread started with the link you provided on a really interesting programme, Isadora so again, thank you. Let's hope we are all in our own ways, slowly reaching out to more people on how important good, fresh food, sufficient exercise and lower stress levels are for us to acquire and maintain good health.............along with a great big dollop of luck too..............xxx
