Hello Haz58,

I’m sorry you are having such a rotten time in sorting out the medications which you can tolerate.

I could not take Azapriothine or Methotrexate but have settled reasonably happily with a daily routine of Bisoprolol, Levothyroxine, Amlodipine, Prednisolone, Ursodeoxycholic Acid, Losartan, Rosuvastatin and Famitidine. This is of course just my routine for my particular conditions. It was only achieved after trial and error and plugging away at the situation.

A sympathetic GP is your best friend and I wish you every success in finding something you can settle down with.

All the best.

Thank you Katie. 😊 I'm sure I'll get there eventually. It just seems I'm being diagnosed with lots of extra things at the moment and the GP's don't seem to check what else I'm taking that could have caused it or in the case I'd the fibrates I shouldn't take them at all now. X

A review of your total medications by the GP would help your peace of mind wouldn’t it, to sort out the questions in your mind.

Hi Katiecatweezal

Yes I was taking bisoprolol 4 years ago foe ectopic heart beats. I initially started with about 4000 ectopics a day and when starting bisoprolol they quickly jumped to between 8 and 12 thousand a day which I knew was not right. I had a lot of other side effects with bisoprolol which eventually landed me in hospital with what they thought was a stroke but I knew if was bisoprolol causing the problem. I was only on 2,5mgs a day for 5 months and then decided I was coming off them. It took me several months to completely stop them as the withdrawal was terrible but once off them I felt back to my normal self and my ectop went down to only 100 to 200 a day. Many people do not have side effects but there are also a lot that do and doctors are not aware just how many people have side effects. If I can help in any way please let me know.
